SCHLEICH WILD LIFE - HYACINTH MACAW

The Hyacinth Macaw skillfully clings on to the bark of the tree. With it's powerful claws and the help of it's beak, the parrot climbs up the tree trunk in no time at all. I wonder where it's going? Ah, it's spotted some delicious nuts hanging up high in the tree, one of it's favourite dishes! The beautiful Hyacinth Macaw has bright blue plumage with golden yellow skin around it's beak and eyes. It contrasts beautifully with the iridescent plumage!

When it spreads it's wings, the macaw has a wingspan of up to one meter! This makes it the largest parrot in the world that can also fly. That really is a sight to see!
