SCHLEICH WILD LIFE - HARPY EAGLE

The Harpy Eagle looks impressive with it's dark plumage and the striped feathers on it's legs. But watch out - it's feathery crest is sticking back which should be a warning! It means that the large bird of prey is on high alert. What do you think it has spotted? The Harpy may be about to set off on a hunt. With it's powerful claws, it can even kill monkeys and carry them away! But it also lets friends carry it around, and will even feed from your hand!

This eagle roams the tropical rainforests of South America in search of prey. Not even the tiniest of movements escape it's notice – so playing hide and seek would be really unfair!
